There are five LGBTQ+ student organizations serving undergraduate, graduate, law, and medical students at the University. This year the LGBTQ Student Center, University of Miami Alumni Association, Gender and Sexuality Studies, and LGBTQ ’Canes have joined to celebrate with a lineup of events from March 31 through May 2.Īdditionally, employees have the opportunity to get involved in the LGBTQ Faculty-Staff Network, an Employee Resource Group that fosters inclusion and support of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, and queer/questioning University employees and their allies. While Pride Month is nationally recognized in June, the University of Miami joins colleges and universities across the nation to celebrate in spring as a way to highlight the LBGTQ+ community while a majority of students are on campus and classes are in session.
